Cleveland Museum of Natural History to host annual Fly Fishing Film Tour

Up until the past week or so it was an exceptional year for fishing in Northeast Ohio as temperatures in the low 60s kept fish on the rivers. Sadly, all good things must come to an end as ol’ man winter made his appearance later in the season than expected.

With snow and cold hitting the region, serious fly fishermen and women take this time to clean and repair gear, make plans for spring, get their fishing license renewed for the coming year and attend the latest installment of the Fly Fishing Film Tour 2017 at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

This evening of pleasant comradery, catching up with old friends, great food and drink, gear give-aways and a selection of some of the best fly fishing movies available anywhere is a sure cure for cabin fever and the winter blues.

This year’s gathering will feature an extended pre-show reception, more exhibitors and an even more diverse collection of short films. The Saturday, March 4th party starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History located at One Wade Oval in Cleveland, Ohio. Spend an evening with like minded individuals as yourself who love fishing in the great outdoors. Meet with vendors, guides and organizations to talk over new places to go and new techniques to try. Raffles of various types will also be available for purchase for great gear prizes as well as opportunities to purchase gear.

This event is a perennial sell-out each year and at $20 a ticket (purchased in advanced or $25 the week of the event) it is a great bargain. Tickets may be purchased at the Orvis Stores in Woodmere and Westlake, Chagrin Rivers Outfitters in Chagrin Falls and The Backpackers Shop in Sheffield. Tickets may also be purchased online at http://www.cmnh.org/f3t.

All proceeds from F3T go to benefit CMNH Trout Club’s conservation and fisheries habitat restoration projects in Northeast Ohio.
