Canton Charge winning streak stopped at two by Skyforce
But for want of a three the game was lost. Hammons posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards as well as four blocks as he clocked in 34 minutes on the court. Matt Williams came off the bench to score 17 with Larry Drew made good with 13 points, 10 assists and six rebounds in 41 minutes.
In spite of their best efforts, the Canton Charge could not tie or lead at any time during the contest. Canton’s Marcus Thornton scored a season-high 35 points on 12-of-23 shooting in 36 minutes. John Holland scored 25 points and grabbed five rebounds in 38 minutes. Caleb Swanigan had nine points and 11 rebounds in 30 minutes on assignment from Portland, while Ante Zizic had nine points, nine boards and two blocks in 18 minutes on assignment from Cleveland.
Next on the calendar is an 11 a.m. tip-off as the Charge travel to New York to battle the Westchester Knicks (New York Knicks) on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
