The Great Big Home and Garden Show gives Clevelanders a taste of spring

In spite of what the Groundhog predicted last Friday (6 weeks of winter if he sees his shadow or a month and a half if he doesn’t) spring has actually come to Cleveland. It can be found in the form of the “The Great Big Home and Garden Show” now housed in the I-X Center through February 11, 2018.

Show times are February 5th through 9th 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday February 10th 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, February 11th 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are Adults: $15, Seniors:\ (65+): $11 (Monday and Tuesday only with ID required), Children 6-12: $5 and Children under 5 Free. Don’t forget that the parking charge for the event is $10 per vehicle.

Put on your walking shoes and escape the frigid winds outside as you tour the expanse of twelve beautifully themed gardens. This year’s theme is music and you will be amazed at the clever tie ins that the designers have come up with.

Next, tour the 2,100 square foot cabin by Weaver Barns. This 3 bedroom, 2 ½ baths comes complete with a sizable kitchen and great room. Also on display are the garage, pavilion, outdoor kitchen as well as the attached large porch and deck area. Another show magnet is the Xtend Technologies Hi-Tech Luxury Lower Level Living Space that features 1,500 square feet of cutting edge ideas sponsored by Sherwin-Williams, Cleveland Magazine and Ohio Magazine. Lastly, take a look at the Tiny Homes built by Small Spaces CLE and discover why tiny homes are the new trend in home design with their 200 square feet of carefully thought out space.

Take a break from the walking and head over to the Main Stage or Cooking Stage for talks concerning the latest in home and garden tips by nationally recognized home improvement celebrities and local experts as well as exciting culinary demonstrations by area chefs. Nest, check out the newest rage in camping called “Glamping” sponsored by Cabelas.

Grab a bite to eat at any number of locations throughout the show (including the garden area) and stroll through the aisle after aisle of exhibitors who are eager to give you fascinating ideas that will enhance your present home.
