The 2018 Cleveland Auto Show will have you falling in love all over again
America has always had an affair with the automobile. We love them big and small, soft and loud, frugal and ostentatious, old and new. This is why the 2018 Cleveland Auto Show (the fifth largest in the country) is so very popular.
One of the main reasons to go to the show is to test drive the newest offerings from the top manufacturers. Your first stop should definitely be the Jaguar/Land Rover booth for a test drive of their latest models. Settling into the ultra comfortable seat you find yourself cocooned in luxury. For us mere mortals it is a heady experience indeed. After the drives (Jaguar and Land Rover) you have a choice of a black ball cap featuring the logo of either manufacturer (only one cap per customer so you will have to choose). The booth is located in the north-east section of the I-X Center.
From there you can follow the north wall west and sample some test drives in the latest offerings from Chrysler (weekends only), Toyota, Ford, Mazda, Chevy, Volkswagen, Kia and Subaru. Each offers test drives of nearly every current model and the product specialist who goes along for the ride is very knowledgeable about the car you are testing. After each test ride you are awarded various “thank-you” gifts such as Star Bucks Gift Cards, Amazon Cards, various canvas and plastic grocery bags, flashlights and phone charging cords.
Other high points of the show include Millionaire’s Row that features seven of the most expensive cars in the world. There is also the Transformer Truck and for fans of the classics there are hundreds of examples of restored vehicles vying for prizes and bragging rights in the Classic Car Competition located in the East Annex. You can also do selfies with an Imperial Storm Trooper at the Nissan Display as well as check out the Star Wars themed Nissan rogue Sport. At the Buick/GM booth various Cleveland sport heroes will also be on hand for autographs over the course of the show.
Lastly, for anyone with even the slightest inclination of buying a new car you have just about every model on display so that you can see how they fit your body and budget as well as all the new electronic safety features. All of the major manufacturers are here showing off their latest.
No trip to the show would be complete without the amazing demo ride in one of the new Jeep offerings that climb stairs, traverse impossible angles, ease over 35 degree ramps and easily make their way through uneven terrain. It is a ride you will not soon forget.
Various auto product vendors are situated on the south end of the show and all the concession stands are open for food. Allow yourself plenty of time for the test rides as the lines sometimes are longer for particular models.
Have some fun test rides, learn about the newest features, get some swag and have a great time at the 2018 Cleveland Auto Show. The high points include a chance to drive a Jaguar, letting it rip in a Dodge Charger, Millionaire’s Row, the Jeep Demo and testing car after car.
