The 2018 Cleveland Auto Show offers fun for the entire family this weekend
At long last the weekend is here and in typical style Cleveland weather for this time of year is making its impact. During the week we had summer like temperatures changing into heavy spring rains followed by wintry mix and snow. Don’t let the forecast stop you from attending the fifth largest Auto Show in America. Inside the I-X Center it is warm and dry and for the adventurous souls you can still take a test drive in the 2018 vehicle of your choice from nine manufacturers.
So here is a rundown on what you will find at the 2018 Cleveland Auto Show now through Sunday at the Cleveland I-X Center.
Check out the “Toyota Live” show every hour at the Toyota exhibit area for a chance to win some fun prizes. It’s a fun and entertaining way to learn about America’s most domestically built car.
As mentioned before, there are nine test drive areas located around the outer perimeter of the building. Lines move at a steady pace but be prepared to wait approximately 10 to 15 minutes for each person our couple in front of you. The upside is you get to take home some nice gifts including Amazon Cards (Kia), Starbucks Gift Cards (Ford and Mazda), Grocery Bags with Flashlights (Subaru), Cool Ball Caps (Jaguar and Land Rover) and grocery bags and lunch bags from all the rest.
Stop by the Geico booth and roll the dice for fun prizes that is right next to the Team Mobile Booth where you can learn about all of the latest phone to car interlinks. For the Eco conscious the Drive Electric Ohio has some new ideas to check out (their booth is next to the other two). The Transformer Truck is also within sight of these three booths.
Auto Accessory Row has all kinds of neat gifts and accessories for you to buy and at the State Farm Booth you can get a free over the shoulder bag as well as a custom etched metal label tag. There’s Millionaires Row featuring a line of cars each worth a cool Mil at least (no you cannot touch or get inside any of them). The Crawford Auto and Aviation Museum has their cutaway 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo showing the moving parts that make it go (you can sign up for their prize gift basket).
All through the I-X Center are acres of brand new automobiles that you can sit in and talk about with factory representatives who are happy to answer questions and give you literature. In all, over two dozen manufacturers are represented including: Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Fiat, Ford, BMW, Jaguar/Land Rover, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Lincoln, Subaru, Volkswagen, Audi, Cadillac, Genesis, Acura, Infiniti, Lexus, Buick, Mazda, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Chevrolet and GMC.At the Ford Display Information Booth you can sign up for a Dealer Test Drive for which you will receive a $50 Gift Card.
It’s a great way to spend the day with the family and if you have the entire clan present you can see what vehicles best fit your needs for seating. Lastly, be sure to check out the Camp Jeep where their newest all terrain vehicles are put through their paces over steps, up steep (35°) inclines, crazy angles with wheels in the air and through uneven ramps. Get there early and stay late (all the food concessions are open) and have a great time at the 2018 Cleveland Auto Show.
