Canton Charge fight to the end in victory over the Wisconsin Herd

The Canton Charge (18-25), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, gave us a Saturday Matinee thrill-fest as they defeated the Wisconsin Herd (10-33), 119-116 at the Canton Memoprial Civic Center. Charge reserve guard Malik Newman was top man for the home team scoring a career high 32 points making this his second 30+ game in a row off the bench which is a franchise record. The win came in spite of Canton being without Cavaliers Two-Way forward Deng Adel (illness) and forward Sir ‘Dominic Pointer (thumb).

The Herd seem to have that Charge’s number this season taking 3 wins from them thus far but Jaron Blossomgame, JaCorey Williams and Malik Newman had other plans for the evening. Blossomgame hit for 28 points with 11-of-23 shooting playing 43 minutes of the game. Jaron was also good for eight rebounds, five assists and two blocks. Williams took over for Chance Comanche and scored 21 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 39 minutes on the floor.

On the other end of the court, Milwaukee Bucks, Herd center Christian Wood notched a game-high 39 points with 17 rebounds in 36 minutes of play. Former Charge forward and now Milwaukee Bucks’ Two-Way forward Bonzie Colson hit for 17 points and seven rebounds. In the second half of the contest the Herd could not buy a three-point basket as they mis-fired on all 12 attempts. In all the Herd made 101 field goal attempts which was a Canton Charge season high.

Canton stays at home with their next game scheduled for Tuesday, March 12, 2019 against the Stockton Kings with tip-off at 7 p.m. For Charge Nation Memberships, group outings, game day promotions and up-to-date information, head to CantonCharge.com or call 866-444-1944.
