Canton Charge Cruises by Grand Rapids Drive

The Canton Charge (2-0), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers kept the pressure on the entire game on their way to a second straight home victory against the Grand Rapids Drive (1-2), 121-105 at the Canton Memorial Civic Center on Wednesday evening.

Taking a 5-3 lead at 10:34 in the first quarter, Canton proved tough on both ends of the court as they fought for advantage until the final buzzer. Levi Randolph hit for 19 in the first halfr on his way to a game-high 26 points as he sank 7-of-10 shots from the field along with 4-of5 from the 3 point arc that put Canton ahead 60-54 at the half.

In the thrid quarter the Charge went on a offensive rampage of 38 points with 12-of9 shooting for 63% combined with 13 turnovers in the quarter on their way to the win.

Randolph was good for 26 on 9-of-15 plus five assists in 39 minutes of court time. J.P. Macura gave a well rounded performance with 24 points, seven rebounds and five steals in 30 minutes. Sir Dominic Pointer crashed the boards defensively with four rebounds, five steals, two blocks and 11 points. Malik Newman came off the bench to score 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting with 25 minutes of court time. In all Canton forced 29 turnovers that added 32 points to the score.

It was Grand Rapid’s Louis King who led his team with 19 points and eight rebounds in 30 minutes. Jordan Bone earned a double-double with 15 points and 12 assists in 34 minutes. Secou Doumbouya scored 12 points and two steals while on assignment from Detroit.

The third game of the homestand will be this Friday, November 15, 2019 as division rivals The Canton Charge ggo up against the Windy City Bulls. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. This is 1-2-3 Friday presented by Sugardale where fans can get more bang for theirrr buck at the concession stands where theey will fin $1 hotdogs, $2 pepsi products and $3 select beers.

The Canton Charge is part of the Cleveland Cavaliers organization and are also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Chairman and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League, who play their games at Rocket Mortgage Field House in downtown Cleveland.
