Canton Charge once againt shows their grit in come from behind victory over the Windy City Bulls

Way back on November 15, 2019, the Canton Charge lost to the Windy City Bulls by 14 points during their thrid game of the new season. That was then and this is now. Last night’s game in front of 3,290 vocal fans was a different story as a stronger and feistier Canton Charge (20-10) easily handled a struggling Windy City Bulls (11-17) by defeating them 123-105 at the Canton Memorial Civic Center. The victory was a four game sweep of their latest home stand. It was jersey night with the first 3,000 fans receiving a very high quality Canton Charge #20 jersey courtesy of Dunkin’.

The Charge took an early lead in the first quarter but Windy City fought back tenaciously putting together a 9-0 run as they managed a three point lead of 56-53 going into the half time break.

It was all Canton after the mid game rest as they hit for 14 unanswered points that included four baskets from the three point arc. Once Canton had the lead they were not about to let go of it again for the rest of the game. It was Levi Randolph leading the way in the third quarter making good with 10 points as he hit 4-for-5. Sheldon Mac made a spectacular slam dunk to start off the fourth as the Charge outscored the Bulls 33-30 in the last quarter to seal the victory.

It was a true team effort for Canton with six players scoring in the double digits. Randolph and Mac tied for most points scored with 21 each. Tyler Cook was close behind with 20 points in 23 minutes while Two-Way Player Dean Wade earned his fifth double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds in 24 minutes. Matt Mooney ended the evening with 16 points along with a team high eight assists and four steals.

On the Windy side of the court it was Milton Doyle scoring an impressive 24 points in 7-for-12 from three point land. V.J. Beachem added 15 points and four rebounds in 33 minutes while Justin Simon hit for 12 points and eight boards in 38 minutes.

The Canton Charge now heads out for a four game road trip starting with a Central Division battle against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants tonight at 7 p.m. The next Canton Charge home game is set for February 19, 2020 against the Norther Arizona Suns with tip-off set for 7 p.m. It’s Ohio Lottery WINSday with every 18 and older ticket holder receiving a free Ohio Lottery Scratch Off Ticket.

The Canton Charge is part of the Cleveland Cavaliers organization and is also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Chairman and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League, who play their games at Rocket Mortgage Field House in downtown Cleveland.
