Cleveland Charge continues home win streak with victory over Grand Rapids Gold
The Cleveland Charge (5-3) picked up right where they left off on Monday as they once again defeated the Grand Rapids Gold (0-7) 115-90 at the Wolstein Center this Wednesday during a noon matinee game. It was the fourth home win in a row to begin the season.
Cleveland took an early 10 to zip point lead and simply kept building on it as the game progressed ending up with a 25 point domination at the final buzzer. Although the usual crowd was not in attendance, those that were there were loud and proud as various member of the Charge demonstrated exceptional playing ability throughout the game.
Six Charge players hit double figures with Emoni Bates leading the way with 24 points in 34 minutes. This was in addition to five rebounds, two assists and one block. Sharife Cooper added 19 points with seven assists and two dramatic steals in 32 minutes. Isaiah Mobley earned a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards in 30 minutes on the court. Pete Nance rang up- 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Rounding off the double digit scorers was Aleem Ford who came off the bench to score 12 points hitting 4-for-5 from the arc in 25 minutes.
The Gold had Jay huff earning a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds in 32 minutes. Andrew Funk made his way with 21 points and six rebounds in 45 minutes. Jamorko Pickett also earned a double-double with 13 points and 10 boards in 36 minutes to round out the scoring.
The Cleveland Charge will be continue their home stand at the Wolstein Center this Friday, December 1, 2023 against the Sioux Falls Skyforce with tip-off at 7:00 p.m. We will be celebrating First Responders Night presented by Physicians Ambulance.
