Cleveland Charge fall short in fourth quarter comeback against Raptors 905
The Raptors 905 took an early lead and simply kept adding to the score. At one point the Cleveland Charge was facing a 22 point deficit. Cleveland valiantly fought back to within eight only to be denied in the end in spite of Brandon Goodwin scoring a six point run in the middle of the fourth quarter. The Cleveland Charge (2-11) of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic was defeated at home by the Raptors 905 (12-4), 110-99 on Tuesday evening at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
It was a very physical game with a lot of bodily contact as both teams fought to work the ball into the paint. There was a slew of steals and blocks as both teams had at it. With the Charge it was Malik Newman who led his team with 20 points and two steals in 31 minutes off the bench. Two-Way Players R. J. Nembhard and Brandon Goodwin added 17 points and 13 points respectively with Goodwin having a team high six assists. Tacko Fall barely missed a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds in 23 minutes to go along with his three blocks.
For the guys from up north it was Two-Way player Justin Champagnie who had a game high 27 points hitting 50% beyond the arc earning him a double-double with 10 boards in 41 minutes. Obadiah Noel contributed 17 points off the bench and assignment player Isaac Bonga hit for 14 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in 28 minutes.
