Cleveland Charge falls to Delaware Blue Coats as huge crowd looks on

There was no shortage of crowd excitement or noise as the Cleveland Charge took the court against the Delaware Blue Coats at an 11:00 a.m. Wednesday matinee game. With over 2,500 local students attending courtesy of ActNow for the annual School Day game the Wolstein Center was rocking! Unfortunately the added energy was not enough to help the roster depleted Charge pull off a victory as they were defeated for the second time this week by the Delaware Blue Coats.

The game started out promising as Cleveland managed to charge ahead, leading by as much as 20 points. With fresh legs taking the court Delaware managed to come from behind then take a commanding lead in the fourth quarter holding on to win the game.

Leading all scorers with 29 points was Jamorko Pickett hitting five three pointers to go along with nine rebounds and two blocks in 41 minutes of play. Nate Hinton followed with 28 points. Two-Way player Mamadi Diakite returned to the Charge line-up to earn a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds and a career high seven assists.

For Delaware it was Louis King hitting 90% from the floor for 23 points in 31 minutes. Julian Champagnie and Jaden Springer tied each other for 22 points and six rebounds. Michael Forster Jr. came off the bench to lead Delaware with eight rebounds and 13 points.

The Cleveland Charge will be on the road for a two-game set against the Maine Celtics in Portland on Friday, February 10th and 11th at 7:00 p.m. Charge fans can catch the game on the mobile app or listen live on the NEO Sports Radio channel on the iHeartRadio app.

The team returns to Cleveland to face the Wisconsin Herd on February 14th with tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
