Cleveland Charge get bit by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants




The Cleveland Charge (2-13) of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic went down in defeat against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (8-10), 133-104, at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio on Wednesday evening.


Cleveland started out strong in the first quarter keeping pace with a very physical Fort Wayne team. Fans in the crowd began to get upset at the number of no-calls as the Mad Ants manhandled the Charge players. As the game progressed Fort Wayne took the lead and held on to it to the final buzzer at one point leading by as much as 17. The Mad Ants are undefeated against the Charge this season.


In scoring it was Cleveland’s Tacko Fall who led the team with a career high tying 27 points as he hit 12-of-14 from the floor with seven rebounds and three blocks in 27 minutes. Justin James was good for 22 points while grabbing six boards in 36 minutes. Dylan Windler added 17 points with eight rebounds and one steal in 39 minutes. R. J. Nembhard (on assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers) scored 14 points with nine rebounds and seven assists in 39 minutes.


With the Fort Wayne Mad Ants Justin Anderson was the game high scorer with 31 points on 12-of-23 from the field in 36 minutes. Gabe York was good for 26 points on 6-of-12 from the three point arc as well as grabbing five rebounds and seven assists in 35 minutes. Walk Lemon Jr. added 23 points with 10 assists and six rebounds as well as three steals in 37 minutes.


The Cleveland Charge will be on the road for a pair of games in Washington D.C. as they battle the Capital City Go-Go. The first game is set for Friday, February 25, 2022 with tip-off set for 7 p.m. Fans can watch the game live on the Charge mobile app or listen to the game on REAL 106.1 FM.
