Cleveland Charge get hammered in final home game of the season against Lakeland Magic
It was a depleted squad that took to the court for the Cleveland Charge’s final home game of their inaugural season at the Wolstein Center in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Although they fought bravely throughout the entire game the final result was a notable loss.
The Cleveland Charge (6-25) of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic, fell heavily to the Lakeland Magic (10-21), 129-91.
Newcomer Kyle Guy scored a game high 29 points with eight rebounds and six assists in 42 minutes. R. J. Nembhard earned his second double-double in a row with 28 points while securing 13 rebounds and five assists and two steals in 42 minutes. Josh Huestis also earned a double double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in 38 minutes. Another addition to the Cleveland roster, Jordan Allen scored 16 points with six rebounds in 35 minutes off the bench.
A total of eight Magic players were good for double figures during the game led by Aleem Ford with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting as well as six rebounds in 30 minutes. B. J. Johnson had a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds in 27 minutes. Jeremiah added a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench. Lakeland took an early lead and held on to it to the bitter end, at times leading by as much as 40 points.
