Cleveland Charge get handled by the Ontario Clippers

It was a matter of too little too late as the Cleveland Charge (14-12) were defeated by the Ontario Clippers (14-12), 117-102 as 2,741 boisterous fans watched. Ontario led for most of the game padding the score to 25+. Cleveland rallied in the bottom of the fourth quarter but simply could not overcome the deficit.

The Charge had seven players scoring in double figures that included Jamorko Pickett 17 points on 5-of-10 and 7-of-7 from the free throw line along with three steals in 30 minutes on the court. Devontae Shuler was good for 16 points and six rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench. Isaiah Mobley scored 16 points and eight boards in 27 minutes.

Across the Canadian border it was Ontario’s Xavier Moon hitting for a game high 31 points with 13-of-17 shooting from the field along with five rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes. Moussa Diabate earned a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds and a pair of steals in 31 minutes. Malik Fitts made good with 17 points and seven rebounds in 34 minutes. Thorugh the game the Clippers out-rebounded Cleveland 55-34.

Tomorrow will be a back to back rematch against the two teams as the Cleveland Charge teams up with Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb for Bibblehead night where 1,500 lucky fans will receive their own Mayor Bibb bobblehead figure. For each ticket sold $1 will be donated to the Boys and Birls Clubs of Northeast Ohio.
