Cleveland Charge get one notch closer to a playoff berth with win over Grand Rapids
It was not an easy win but it was a win none the less. The Cleveland Charge (17-14) defeated the Grand Rapids Gold (9-23) 108-101 at the final home game of the season. 4,472 fans gathered for Cleveland Cavaliers Bobblehead night as well as the Cleveland Charge Salute to Cleveland Night. During the game there was tons of giveaways top lucky fans throughout the evening.
For the Charge it was Cleveland Cavaliers assignment Dylan Windler bringing the intensity as he earned a double-double with 24 points and 15 rebounds as he hit a three from the arch with 40 seconds left that snuffed out the Gold’s drive. Sharife Cooper knocked in 26 points with seven assists in 37 minutes on the court. Two-Way Isaiah Mobley ended the night with 19 points, seven boards and two blocks. Cleveland Cavaliers Sam Merrill tossed in 18 points adding his name to the list of double digit scorers.
On the Grand Rapids side of the court it was Justin Turner coming off the bench for 24 points in 38 minutes. Two-Way Jack White added 20 points and nine rebounds. Grant Golden earned a triple double with 12 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.
The Cleveland Charge now head up north for a game against the Motor City Cruise (Detroit Pistons) with tip-off at 7:00 p.m. A victory would secure them a spot in the 2023 NBA G League Playoffs.
