Cleveland Charge lets one slip from their grasp

It was a game of tens. The Motor City Cruise (13-14) jumped to a 10-0 lead at the start. The Cleveland Charge (11-14) fought back and took a ten point lead near the half. The Cruise fought back in the fourth to win by ten 106-96. It was Kelce Brothers Bobblehead Giveaway night and a crowd of 5,062 fans showed up (the biggest crowd in franchise history) hoping to capture the fabled figurine (alas there was only enough for the first 1,000 fans).

Frustration ran through the crowd as in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter the fans saw the comfortable lead diminish as the Charge players had shots rolling out of the basket. The exceptional number of foul calls did not help as it disrupted the flow of the game numerous times.

Devontae Shuler came off the bench to lead the team with 15 points on 6-of 13 shooting with five rebounds in 28 minutes. Isaiah Mobley earned his 12th double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds in 33 minutes. Sharife Cooper added 14 points and two steals while Emoni Bates scored 11 points and five rebounds.

The next home game will be an early tip-off time of 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, march 12, 2024 as the Cleveland Charge hosts their Annual Educational School Day Game for Cleveland area students. Tis is always a lively game with lots of fun events during the event.
