Cleveland Charge pull it together for a win over the Iowa Wolves




It was a close back and forth game throughout between two evenly matched opponents but in the end it was Cleveland two players on assignment that sealed the victory. It was a very physical game that saw some hard knocks throughout the contest as things got physical under the boards.


The Cleveland Charge (6-4) of the NBA G League, presented by Cleveland Clinic, managed a two game sweep against the Iowa Wolves (4-4) as they rolled to a 131-118 victory at the Wolstein Center on Tuesday evening in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. This is Cleveland’s fourth win in a row and fourth consecutive victory on their home court.


Cavalier NBA Assignment Kevin Pangos made good in his Charge debut scoring 22 points with seven assists and a pair of steals in 37 minutes on the boards. Dylan Windler (also on assignment from the Cavaliers) was good for 19 points and seven boards in 34 minutes. Top scorer for Cleveland was two-way player R. J. Nembhard who scored 23 points with seven assists and two steals in 39 minutes. Coming off the bench, Kyle Guy scored 17 points with two steals in 22 minutes. Other double digit scorers included Norvel Pelle with 14 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots in 21 minutes, Tre Scott with 13 points and Justin James with 10 points.


From Iowa’s end it was former Charge player F. Vincent Edwards leading the Wolves with a game high 27 points combined with six rebounds in 37 minutes. Brian Bowen II earned a double-double with 16 points, eleven rebounds and three steals. Chris Silva was also able to get a double-double with 14 points, twelve rebounds and three blocks in 35 minutes.


The Cleveland Charge now travel for a divisional contest with the Wisconsin Herd (Milwaukee Bucks) on Sunday, December 12, 2021 with tip off scheduled for 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on NBA TV or can be listened to on WARF 1350 AM.


Just in time for the holidays the Cleveland Charge returns to the Wolstein Center on December 17, 2021 for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
