Cleveland Charge puts a bit of tarnish on the Grand Rapids Gold





The Cleveland Charge started the game a bit slow with the Grand Rapids Gold taking a ten point lead that they held until nearly the end of the first quarter. It was at the start of the second quarter that the Charge took charge and never looked back. At one point Cleveland led by over 20 points with Grand Rapids coming within eight but Cleveland fought back keeping a ten point lead to the end.


This was the third straight home game victory for the Cleveland Charge (4-3) at the Wolstein Center in downtown Cleveland, Ohio as Grand Rapids dropped to (0-6).


The Charge was led by Sharife Cooper with a game high 26 points combined with six rebounds, six assists and two steals. Isaiah Mobley was good for 23 points and seven boards in 38 minutes. Emoni Bates hit for 17 points with six rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 35 minutes on the court. Pete Nance came off the bench to round out the scoring, adding 12 points and eight boards in 26 minutes.


On the Grand Rapids end it was Au’diese Toney earning a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds along with five assists, three steals and two blocks in 41 minutes. Andrew Funk added a double-double for Grand Rapids with 14 points and 10 boards with five assists in 36 minutes.
