Cleveland Charge puts up valiant effort with reduced roster against Delaware Blue Coats
The injury bug has hit the Cleveland Charge with the team only able to muster eight players against a strong Delaware Blue Coats. The result was Cleveland’s third home defeat of the season 110-99 at the Wolstein Center in downtown Cleveland, Ohio on Monday evening. The only saving grace from the game is that it was short and there were not a lot of witnesses.
Delaware took an early lead and kept it throughout the game to the final buzzer at times padding the lead by twenty plus points. Late in the fourth quarter, the Charge began a rally but it was too little too late as time ran out with the Blue Coats still ahead by double digits.
Scoring for Cleveland had Gabe Osabuohien scoring a career-high 20 points with seven boards and three steals in 29 minutes. Jamorko Pickett had a game high 27 points with nine rebounds and three blocks in 42 minutes. Chandler Vaudrin kept busy with 15 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals in 40 minutes. Nate Hinton and Rashad Vaughn tied at 12 points each for the Charge.
Delaware was blessed with 11 players getting recorded in the scoring column with Mac McClung hitting 22 points on 7-of-11 from the field in 27 minutes. Charlie Brown Jr. was good for 11 points and three steals in 21 minutes. Cleveland was held to just 5-of-30 three point shooting (17%) during the contest.
