Cleveland Charge says Bye-Bye to Go Go




What a difference a day makes. The Cleveland Charge (10-11) was not to be denied as they came back with a vengeance for the second game of the weekend against the Capital Go-Go (12-9). Cleveland took an early lead and kept the pace up with brilliant defense and superior offense to win by 17 points 128-111 at the Wolstein Center in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. It was a brutally fast paced games that featured a slew of quick breaks, long passes and dazzling work under the basket.


Cleveland’s Emoni Bates shone as he scored the game high 32 points with seven rebounds in 35 minutes. Pete Nance earned a double-double of 12 points with 10 rebounds in 38 minutes. Isaiah Mobley was good for 17 points, grabbing eight boards in 33 minutes. Sharife Cooper had 14 points, four rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes of play. Rounding out the scoring was Zhaire Smith hitting 7-of-8 shots for 18 points.


Three Capital City players scored 20+ points with R.J. Hampton hitting for 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting in 24 minutes off the bench. Jules Bernard scored 22 points grabbing eight boards in 35 minutes while Hamidou Diallo hit for 22 points with six rebound and two steals in 33 minutes.

The Cleveland Charge hit the road for a two game set with the College Park Skyhawks that will start with a Wednesday game on February 28 at 7:00 p.m. The Charge returns to Cleveland for a matinee game on March 3rd with an early tip-off time of 2:00 p.m.
