Fly like an eagle at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

When was the last time that you visited the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo? That long ago huh? Well, the zoo is better than ever with multiple family fun attractions.

The newest of these is the Eagle Zip Adventure which consists of a tandem zip line that takes riders far above the Zoo on a thrilling adventure ride. You start at a floating platform located next to the historic Wade Hall. Two riders are strapped into dual seats and gently propelled 700 feet to the height of 150 feet above Waterfowl Lake. After a short pause the chair comes sliding down the cable reaching speeds of up to 35 mph with a smooth and safe stop at the end. There are a total of two chair sets to ride on.

“The Eagle Zip Adventure is our newest attraction at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, offering riders a unique and thrilling flight above the Zoo,” said Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian M. Zimmerman. “Whether you experience the zip line during the day or at night during this summer’s Asian Lantern Festival, it’s a can’t miss experience for thrill seekers and families alike.”

Of the first to ride the new attraction was Kenny Crumpton of Kickin’ it with Kenny fame (Channel 8) and Austin Love (Channel 3) as well as winners of an online contest put together by the Zoo. Judging by their smiles this is sure to be a big hit attraction at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

Hours for this new Zoo attraction is 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. and will also be open during special events such as this year’s Asian Lantern Festival presented by Meijer for an after dark ride of a lifetime.

The Eagle Zip Adventure is priced at $8 per rider or $7 for Zoo members. Guests purchasing “Total Experience Packages” will reiceve $1.00 off the price of the ride.

Requirements for the ride are two riders per car only with minimum height of 42” with paying adult or 48” and taller to ride alone. Maximum weight per rider is 300 lbs. or 450 lbs. for both riders combined. Tickets are available for purchase at the Circle of Wildlife (located just down from the Eagle Zip Adventure) or at the 4-D Theater.

For those wishing to have a lasting memory of the experience you can purchase a video package of your ride experience that includes multiple camera angles created through Kool Replay.

Eagle Zip Adventure was engineered, constructed and installed by Altitude Rides and Attractions with site work by Regency Construction.
