Canton Charge has late game surge to defeat Greensboro Swarm

The Canton Charge (21-17), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers stayed in the fight right to the end when a late game rally helped them defeat the Greensboro Swarm (13-26), 114-108, at the Memorial Civic Center on Tuesday night. This is the third victory in as many games for Canton during the Swarm’s inaugural season. Their final match-up of the season will be held on March 16, 2017 at Greensboro.

A trio of Charge players scored 20+ points that included Kay Felder, on assignment from the Cleveland Cavaliers (25 points on 8-of-17) with five assists and two steals in 34 minutes, John Holland (25 points on 7-of-13) with four steals in 36 minutes and Jonathan Holmes (23 points on 7-of-13) with five rebounds in 39 minutes.

Roosevelt Jones chalked up and additional 14 points, seven rebounds and two steals in 38 minutes while Eric Moreland added nine points, 12 rebounds, six assists and three blocks in 32 off the bench minutes. Cameron Jones made his Charge debut with 11 points and one steal in 20 minutes off the bench. Jones was acquired in a February 25th trade.

On the Swarm side of the court it was Damien Wilkins with 23 points, five rebounds and five assists in 30 minutes off the bench. Archie Goodwin was good for 16 points and nine boards in 28 minutes. Cat Barber and Ralston Turner tied each other at 16 points. In all six Swarm players scored in double figures.

Canton continues their five-game home stand on Saturday, March 4th at 7:00 p.m. against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (Indiana Pacers). The Charge will wear special camouflage jerseys presented by Constellation that will be auctioned off to benefit area veterans for Military Appreciation Night, with military themed fun throughout the whole evening and more starting at just $8! Groups of 20 or more can take part in unforgettable fan experiences such as halftime performances, anthem buddies, high five tunnel, benchwarmers, and more!

The Canton Charge are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League and the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League, both of which play their games at Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland.

This included articles concerning sports and cultural events in Cleveland, Ohio as well reviews of the many theatrical productions around town.
