Cleveland Browns players join with Cleveland Police for a Rec Center visit
This past Tuesday (September 26, 2017) members of the Cleveland Browns joined up with Officers of the Cleveland Police Department to pay a visit to the Michael Zone Recreation Center at 6301 Lorain Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio. DB Ibraheim Campbell, WR Rashard Higgins and WR Ricardo Louis acted as on field coaches as youth members of the recreation center’s youth football league held scrimmages.
The visit is part of the commitment that the Cleveland Browns organization has assumed in assisting in the development, safety and growth of youth and high school football in the Northeast Ohio area. This commitment carries through all year-round with special programs for players, coaches, officials and parents. Through a series of camps, clinics and special initiatives the Cleveland Browns hope to promote an atmosphere that promotes healthy, social, emotional, intellectual and Physical development of young athletes as opportunities for youth football are offered.
In spite of temps in the 90s no one seemed to mind as energetic teams took the field under the tutelage of these NFL professionals. Praise was high for the efforts of the young athletes as real time lessons were taught on the basics of football. To keep everything on the up and up, volunteer referees were on hand to keep the action working smoothly and within the rule guidelines.
The visit is part of the Cleveland Browns First and Ten Program of which #give10 is an integral part of. The Cleveland Browns encourage their fans worldwide to register on the Cleveland Browns web site at http://www.clevelandbrowns.com/ by clicking on “Give Back” and committing to ten hours of community volunteer activity within a one year period. Having completed that task they are invited to return and share their experiences with others at the same site.
