The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame features an All Star Week of activity

Tuesday, July 9, 2019 the MLB All Star Game will be held in Cleveland, Ohio at Progressive Field (home of the Cleveland Indians). In honor of this awesome occurrence the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will be holding a variety of baseball themed activities geared at showing the connection between professional baseball and rock and roll.

On Monday, July 8th Greg Harris, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame President and CEO (and former National Baseball Hall of Fame Executive) met with members of the rock group “The Baseball Project” made up of Scott McCaughey, Steve Wynn, Inductees R.E.M. members Peter Buck and Mike Nills and drummer Linda Pitman to talk about baseball and rock. Later in the day the group performed on the Kilpsch Audio Main Stage.

Also happening that day was Greg Harris presenting a Fender guitar to eight time MLB All-Star, Mike Trout inside the brand new “The Garage” exhibit. Trout also took time with Harold Reynolds of MLB Network to officially release his new NIKE sports shoe, The NIKE Zoom Forest Trout 6 Cleat. The two time league MVP (2014 and 2016) and six time winner of the Silver Slugger Award told about the design process of the shoe as well as all of its attributes.

For Tuesday there will be another live performance of The Baseball Project on the Klipsch Audio Main Stage at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. featuring Scott McCaughey, Inductees R.E.M. members Steve Wynn, Peter Buck and Mike Mills as well as drummer Linda Pitman who will be performing baseball themed rock songs.
